Chair project: arm springs, remnant of original fabric, burlap arm plate base, and washed hog & horse hair. I tried to save the cotton batting but it was too dusty. The horse has some kind of coating on it that keeps rubbing off but from what I have read is worth hold on to. The arm springs though...#upholstery #diy #antiques

Bones and guts of the green chair. Pulling 1,000,000 nails and staples is very meditative. Chair is from either the 20s or 30s and between the layers of cotton batting I found sea grass and horse hair. Can't see the details in the photos so I'm going to have to sketch it out so I can re build it. So far I spent around $150 on tools. #antique #diy #reupholstery

Reupholstery project fun time. This is my grandfather's old chair that I've been dragging around for almost 30 years. Fabric is from late 60s and I found a swatch of the original inside. I thought it was from the 30s but maybe a little earlier after finding horse hair in the stuffing. #antique #diy #upholstery
